Jane Hazlegrove briefly reprises ‘Dixie’ role for Casualty

The popular character of Dixie will be back for two episodes in Casualty’s new series this autumn.

“It was great to see some familiar faces again and of course to hang out with Sir Michael Stevenson…despite the fact that his jokes haven’t got any better!” – Jane Hazlegrove

Dixie is now a part of the HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) team and is slated to arrive in the nick of time to assist the paramedic team with a young boy who has a life-threatening chest injury.

But it’s not just the patient who she will have an impact on. Iain (Michael Stevenson) is to be left thinking about his own future after seeing his former colleague in her new role.

“Dixie and Iain are going to have a lot to catch up on after his tumultuous year.” – Simon Harper, Executive Producer

Hazlegrove recently joined the cast of Coronation Street in the role of Bernie Winters estranged mum of Paul and Gemma who made her first appearance in the ITV Granada soap last month.

The character left her daughter’s baby-daddy, Chesney, lost for words after she attempted to seduce him before claiming it was the other way around.

The actress originally played the role of Dixie between 2006-2016.
