Dust off your dancing shoes… Strictly’s back!

Best on the Box is back after it’s summer break and tonight its the big Beeb launch of Strictly Come Dancing. Other highlights for Saturday 7th September include Tony Robinson taking a long train journey and eight dogs.

One to Watch: Strictly Come Dancing – Launch Show 2019, BBC One at 7.10pm

Opening the 17th series with a bang, Queen of Pop Kylie Minogue will perform a show-stopping medley of some of her biggest hits, alongside a dazzling routine from Strictly’s professional dancers.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will roll out the red carpet for the class of 2019, as the Bafta Award-winning show returns to BBC One. The star-studded line up will then head to the Strictly ballroom for the very first time, ready to find out which professional dancer they’ll be paired with on their journey towards the famous Glitter Ball trophy.

New judge Motsi Mabuse will join Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas, as they get their first peek at 2019’s star-studded line up plus all four judges are set to perform with the professional dancers in an unmissable group number.

The launch show will also see the celebrities take to the floor for the very first time in a spectacular group dance, as well as a musical performance from Academy Award-winner Mark Ronson and Grammy Award-winning YEBBA.

Britain’s Got Talent – The Champions, ITV, STV and UTV at 8.30pm

It’s the battle of the Champions! Over the last 13 years ITV viewers have witnessed truly incredible acts that have taken to the Britain’s Got Talent stage and now they’re going head to head with the best Got Talent acts from around the world in what promises to be the ‘Olympics of Talent.’

In tonight’s second episode of the series the return of the first comedian to ever win BGT, Lost Voice Guy, along with Alesha’s golden buzzer from series 11, Mersey Girls and series 5 winner, Jai McDowall. Plus the judges welcome Alexa Lauenburger, who won the German version of Got Talent in 2017 with her eight dogs.

Expect to see the return of other familiar faces as well as welcoming brand new talent from across the world.

Tony Robinson’s Around The World By Train, Channel 5 at 8pm

The Blackadder actor and former Time Team host takes a rail journey around the globe for Channel 5 in this three part series.

Tony begins by visiting France, Germany and Hungary before heading towards Turkey, which straddles Asia and Europe. In Paris, he meets up with a friend who explains the finer points of French social etiquette

Over in Germany, he compares a gentle spin in a replica of the first automobile with an exhilarating blast in the latest Formula 1 car. He then travels across India and Burma, beginning in Delhi, where he visits one of the city’s oldest markets, before taking a ride on the Himalayan Mountain Railway.

Casualty, BBC One at 8.40pm

Archie (Genesis Lynea) is incensed by the injustice of a patient’s situation when an acid attack which was meant for a car ends up hurting the owner. Archie takes matters into her own hands to support the wronged party, but does she go too far?

When Ruby (Maddy Hill) and Iain (Michael Stevenson) attend a call that needs HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) assistance, Iain is pleasantly surprised that his old team mate, Dixie (Jane Hazlegrove), is the paramedic responder. The two reminisce over old times and this blast from the past inspires Iain to look harder at his own future.

Mason (Victor Oshin) and Rash (Neet Mohan) butt heads when Rash disagrees with Mason’s cavalier approach to medicine. While treating a patient together, Mason challenges Rash to a bet, but can Rash afford to lose…?
