Tina Majorino To Join True Blood
Actress Tina Majorino will appear in the fifth season of HBO drama True Blood.
The actress will play a member of the Vampire Authority’s staff according to TV Line. The fifth season of True Blood on HBO on June 10th. Majorino recently had a three episode stint on Fox drama series Bones as well as voicing the character of Deb in animated series Napoleon Dynamite. Majorino other roles include appearances in Big Love, The Deep End and Veronica Mars.
It has also been announced that award-winning actress Alfre Woodard will reprise her role of Ruby Jean Reynolds in the fifth season. The character is the mother of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and last cropped up in True Blood’s third season – Woodard was nominated for an Emmy Award for the role. According to Entertainment Weekly Woodard will appear in the fifth and sixth episodes of the new season.
Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill, has also teased some details of the fifth season. Moyer has revealed that Bill and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) will have something of a “bromance” in the forthcoming new season as they form an alliance together. It has also recently been confirmed that Mark Hudis will take over as show-runner from Alan Ball if True Blood is renewed for a sixth season – which at the moment no one see’s any reason why it wouldn’t be.
