Emmerdale recasts Ellis Chapman

The recently-departed character will be back on screen as early as next month the soap has announced.

Emmerdale bosses have recast the role of Ellis Chapman following Asan N’Jie being let go from the show over his conduct at an awards ceremony.

The character will be played by Aaron Anthony when he returns to the village this December. His return will come as tensions between Al and Billy threaten to boil over.

Anthony’s previous credits include Delicious, Doctors, The Other One and Behind Her Eyes.

“Emmerdale is a cracking show with a brilliant cast that I’m over the moon to now be a part of. I know Ellis is a well loved character and I’m looking forward to continuing his journey and all that’s in store for him.” – Aaron Anthony

N’Jie’s incarnation of the character headed off to Dubai to work at his mum Jessie’s school last month.

The Sun told in September how the actor had been dropped from the show after a public spat with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas with it later being noted that the pair had clashed over a mutual acquaintance owing Lomas money.
