Coronation Street set for festive siege

The residents of Coronation Street are in for a Yuletide they will never forget….

“Christmas Day celebrations take a sinister turn when a Winter Wonderland attraction becomes the scene of a dramatic armed siege – will everyone escape with their lives?” – ITV Press

When a festive fairground pitches up in Weatherfield there is a flurry of excitement on the cobbles, however the attraction underwhelms with Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) resolving to provide a more appealing alternative for his family and neighbours.

However festive frivolity is the last thing on one man’s mind – Derek Milligan (Craige Els) believes Gary Windass (Mikey North) has destroyed his life and he wants to make him pay. His happening upon an antique rifle, left by Fiz in Gary’s furniture shop, sets the scene for a perilous showdown.

After terrifying the locals in the pub Derek chases Gary out onto the cobbles and the pair end up battling it out on the top of the Helter Skelter at the funfair. Fists and bullets start flying – with fatal consequences. Meanwhile, Shona (Julia Goulding) arranges a treasure hunt for David (Jack P Shepherd) with herself as the prize unwittingly leading her new hubby and the rest of the family into the centre of Derek’s drama.

As the year draws to a close Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) packs up her troubles and books a one way ticket out of Weatherfield, but not before discovering she has unwittingly sold the Bistro to her arch enemy Ray Crosby (Mark Frost).
