Top of the Pops festive specials see the best of 2019 music

The line-up for the Top Of The Pops Christmas and New Year Specials has been revealed by the Beeb.

TV’s biggest festive pop party prepares to return to BBC One screens this Christmas, although to the bemusement of pop pickers and music lovers the Christmas Day outing is getting earlier and earlier instead of its traditional 2pm offering.

Hosted by Radio 1’s Clara Amfo and TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton, the one-hour specials will celebrate 2019’s hottest pop artists as they perform their biggest hits for a live audience at the BBC’s Elstree Studios.

The star-studded Top of the Pops Christmas Special will celebrate all things pop with a line-up of AJ Tracey & Jorja Smith, Dermot Kennedy, Freya Ridings, Jack Savoretti, James Blunt, Jax Jones & Ella Henderson, Labrinth, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Sigala feat. Becky Hill, The Script and Tom Walker

Fearne and Clara will return to BBC One screens for the Top of the Pops New Year Special, taking a look back at the year in music. The performers include Blossoms, Celeste, Dermot Kennedy, Freya Ridings, Joel Corry & Hayley May, Lewis Capaldi, Lily Moore & Dan Caplen, Mabel, Regard & Jay Sean, Sigma and Jack Savoretti and Tom Walker.

Top Of The Pops Christmas Special will be on BBC One on Tuesday 25th December at 11.35am and Top Of The Pops New Year Special will be on BBC One on Monday 30th December at 4.45pm.
