Portia de Rossi joins Mockingbird Lane

Portia de Rossi has been cast in NBC‘s forthcoming The Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane.
It was recently announced that Jerry O’Connell had been cast in the dramatic re-imaging of the sitcom as Herman, the Munster family patriarch. The series now has cast matriarch with Portia de Rossi playing the character of Lilly. Mockingbird Lane will not be the first time de Rossi and O’Connell have worked together; they both appeared in the 1997 movie Scream 2.
Bryan Fuller is the man behind the much delayed Munsters re-boot. The show was originally scheduled for an autumn launch but creative issues and casting issues has pushed its premier back – most likely to mid-season. While The Munsters was a sitcom Mockingbird Lane – named after the street the family lived on – will be a drama series.
Portia de Rossi will be familiar to audiences for a wide range of roles such as appearances in Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, Nip/Tuck and Better Off Ted.
