BBC Drama Silk To Return For Third Series
Legal drama Silk is to return to BBC One for a third series.
The drama, created by Peter Moffat, stars Maxine Peake and Rupert Penry-Jones and came to the end of its second series last night on BBC One. Silk usually airs on a Tuesday evening but due to the Euro 2012 football tournament was moved to Wednesday evening for its season finale.
“It’s a joy to write for Maxine Peake and this group of actors. I feel very privileged and lucky. Can’t wait to get going. Lots of big ideas about cases, characters, relationships, politics as well as a great deal of unfinished business from this current series.” – Peter Moffat
The second series of Silk has performed well for BBC One which has doubtless prompted its renewal. The drama also stars Alex Jennings while The Tudors actress Natalie Dormer appeared in the first series. For the second series Frances Barber, Indira Varma and Rupert Penry-Jones’ Whitechapel co-star Phil Davis joined the cast.
