HBO Orders Sixth Season Of True Blood
HBO has renewed its vampire drama True Blood, starring Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, for a sixth season.
It’s official; True Blood will be back for another season as HBO orders a sixth season of the supernatural drama. To be honest its renewal by the broadcaster was almost a certainty; there were no predictions of cancellation for the series.
The fifth season is still airing on HBO with new additions to the cast, for the fifth year, including Christopher Meloni, Lucy Griffiths and Scott Foley continuing in the role he first played towards the end of the fourth season.
The sixth season will be the first without Alan Ball in direct charge of the series; the show-runner announced he was stepping down from day-to-day running of the drama just prior to the launch of the fifth season. True Blood’s new showrunner will be Mark Hudis who has served as the show’s co-executive producer since the fourth season.
True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Kristin Bauer, Nelsan Ellis, Carrie Preston, Joe Manganiello, Jim Parrack and Deborah Ann Woll.
