Channel 5 to get inside the mind of Ian Brady
Channel 5 has announced it is to air a documentary looking into Moors murderer Ian Brady.
One of the UK’s most high profile killers ever, convicted child murder Ian Brady will be the subject of a new documentary which looks back at his crimes and the result from his upcoming tribunal.
Brady is currently awaiting an appeal hearing on whether he will be allowed to be moved to a Scottish prison where he wants to starve himself to death.
It is unclear whether this will go ahead now due to the news announced on Tuesday that Brady suffered a seizure. The 74 year old remains in a public hospital undergoing observation.
The Channel 5 documentary will feature interviews with those who knew Brady, those who helped put him behind bars and professionals who have studied him for years.
“Ian Brady’s killing spree still shocks today and he shows no remorse for his crimes. This documentary will reveal his state of mind whilst his victim’s families still seek answers.” – Michelle Chappell, Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor for News, Current Affairs and Documentaries
The documentary has been commissioned by Channel 5’s Michelle Chappell and is made by 1212 Productions.
“Ian Brady has never revealed where he and Myra Hindley buried their third victim Keith Bennett. Hindley is now dead and this Tribunal could be the last chance for Keith’s family to find out.” – Philip Armstrong-Dampier, Executive Producer for 1212 Productions
Inside the Mind of Ian Brady is to air Monday 16th July at 8.00pm on Channel 5.
