Trisha to launch US chat show
Trisha Goddard is set to launch her own chat show in America.
Broadcast reports that Goddard is planning a return to the daytime television market with a brand new chat show but not here in the UK but in America. Goddard presented her own self-titled ITV1 show from 1998 to 2004 when she defected to Channel Five where she remained until 2010. Trisha replaced Vanessa Feltz’s show in 1998 which was taken off-air and to begin with the chat-show was of a similar format until it moved more towards shows such as Jerry Springer.
Goddard has recently made appearances on American chat-show Maury as a “conflict resolution” expert. However, she has now struck a deal, according to Broadcast, with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution to launch her own series titled, yes you’ve guessed it, Trisha.
The series will be similar in format to her own UK shows and the other American chat-shows in which ordinary people appear to discuss problems they are experiencing – affairs, addiction, obsession ect. The one-hour series will be syndicated across the US to different local stations.
