Emmerdale character to be killed off
An Emmerdale character will be killed off as the soap celebrates its 40th anniversary, it has been announced.
On 17th October the show will air a one hour long live episode featuring the birth of two babies and a shock death later in the evening. Bosses are staying tight lipped over who will meet their maker in the landmark episode.
There are currently three expectant mums on the show but the two expected to give birth in the live episode are Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Gennie Walker (Sian-Reese Williams). Debbie is currently pregnant with her second child to Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher), while Gennie is expecting boyfriend Nikhil’s (Rik Makarem) baby.
The show’s special birthday week will also feature two weddings as Chastity Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is set to tie the knot with Dan Spencer (Liam Fox), while Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) will take Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) down the aisle.
Series Producer, Stuart Blackburn, revealed: “In our spectacular live episode viewers will be taken on a whirlwind journey encompassing every life experience from the two cradles to the grave with love, hate and betrayal along the way.
“We want to avoid speculation as to which character dies but suffice to say it will have major, far-reaching repercussions.”
Emmerdale will mark its 40th anniversary with a series of dramatic storylines starting Monday 15th October.
