6.3 million watch Jonnie Peacock victory on C4
Channel 4 has revealed that 6.3 million watched Jonnie Peacock win gold last night in another victory for Paralympic viewing.
Last night Channel 4 scored its highest ratings (outside of the Opening Ceremony) for Paralympic coverage as Team GB continued to win more gold medals. The T44 100m final was watched by 6.3 million viewers at 9.25pm, rising to 6.7 million when Paralympic Live streams are added.
Another Team GB athlete, David Weir, won his third gold medal at the games in the T54 800m. That event was watched by a peak of 5.5 million viewers. Hannah Cockroft winning gold in the T34 200m final, watched by a peak audience of 4.1 million.
Paralympics Tonight, which aired from 7.30pm – 11.00pm averaged an impressive 3.5 million viewers and a 17% share.
The London 2012 Paralympic Games finish on Sunday with the Closing Ceremony.
