QVC to air Cancer Care event

Tune into QVC on Wednesday 17th October from 6pm for a dedicated Be Aware, Show You Care three-hour live broadcast, which will feature some on-air and online auctions, including the infamous Diamonique Jubilee Crown and Loose Women host Andrea McLean (pictured right) up for auction.

QVC also state they are proud to be the Official Broadcast Partner for the charity’s fundraising fashion show at Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday 3rd October.

Footage from the event will also be broadcast in the live show; while QVC presenter Alison Keenan, herself recovering from breast cancer, will be taking part in the fashion show as one of the models.” the network say.

Entertainment will include with a performance from X Factor winner Joe McElderry (pictured right) as well as an exclusive performance from ex-spice Geri Halliwell. The evening show will be hosted by radio DJ and television presenter Edith Bowman and there’ll be a performance by Jonathan Ansell as well as Britain’s Got Talent dance troupe Flawless.

“For the last 13 years, QVC has been proud to support Breast Cancer Care and this October it continues to do just that with a variety of fundraising methods, which last year included auctioning off popstar Joe McElderry for £6,350 – the highest single bid ever recorded for a QVC auction. To date, QVC has raised a staggering £4 million for the charity and this year it aims to take that to an even higher total with an exclusive range of limited edition fashion, jewellery, beauty and homes items available at special prices, with all net profits going directly to the charity.” the shopping channel adds in its statement.
