Reality TV show winner joins Neighbours

A fashion model and former reality TV show contestant has joined Neighbours in a two month guest role, it has been confirmed.

Rhys Uhlich, winner of Make Me a Supermodel in 2008, will play Scotty Boland, a love interest for newcomer Georgia Brooks (Saskia Hampele).
Described as a “country boy”, Scotty will arrive on Ramsay Street with a secret that gets people talking and changes things for Georgia, who is cousin to Toadie (Ryan Moloney).

Uhlich told TV Tonight: “Ever since I got into modelling, acting has been something I’ve wanted to pursue. It sounds cliché, but it’s a natural progression to want to move into other areas of the industry.
“I grew up in the same town as the Hemsworth boys [Philip Island], and to see the careers they’ve made for themselves is pretty inspiring.”

Uhlich, who was a primary school teacher prior to becoming a model, started filming with the soap last week.
His character will first appear on-screen during December in Australia, and in February 2013 in the UK.
