Fox orders Gavin & Stacey remake script

Fox has commissioned a script for a US remake of hit BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey.

James Corden and Ruth Jones, who created and starred in the British series, will reportedly serve as executive producers on the remake, alongside David Rosen, who will work on the script.
Fox’s version of the comedy will show key moments in the lives of the title characters as they juggle their relationship with family life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
BBC Worldwide Productions and Sony Pictures TV will produce the show with the company behind the UK series, Baby Cow Productions. Henry Normal will also serve as an executive producer of the project, having fulfilled the same role on the UK version.
Corden and Jones, who starred as Smithy and Nessa in the British series, are not expected to have on-screen roles in the remake.
The UK version of Gavin & Stacey ran for three series and a Christmas special on BBC OneĀ and was shown on BBC America in the US.
