Typical Married Couples to make for interesting TV?
If you’re an executive producer of a soap opera the last thing these days you want in your storyline is a TMC – Typical Married Couple. The real world however isn’t as explosive, murderous or warped as Walford, Weatherfield and the like – as Sky Living discovers.
The ten-part relationship series is to look at young couples living and loving together, following a nationwide survey.
The series will ask the nation’s young co-habiting couples about life together, delving into the humorous moments, endearing traits and annoying habits of today’s partnerships. Interviews and commentary from couples will offer a funny, warm and intimate look at relationships behind closed doors.
Fever Media’s David Tibballs, Executive Producer says, “Typical Married Couples is a beautifully simple, warm-hearted and funny show. It’s such a treat to hear our couples tell all about the quirks of living together and I hadn’t appreciated that we have quite so many surprising ways of making our other halves laugh, cry and explode with embarrassment!”
The series of half hour episodes will hold up a mirror to modern relationships and delve into territories some partners may prefer to avoid. Romance, Sex and hygiene habits are all on the agenda, revealing what men and women really think about living with their other half.
Celia Taylor, Head of Features and Factual, Sky adds, “This is a laugh out loud series that shows how couples really live and what they think of each other. Honest, funny and with so many echoes to our own relationships we are confident that Typical Married Couples is a show which will resonate with our Sky Living audience, male and female.”
Typical Married Couples will air on Sky Living HD early next year.
