CBS Orders Full Seasons Of Vegas And Elementary

CBS has given full season orders to two of its new dramas; Vegas and Elementary.
Elementary, the broadcaster’s modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes, has been picked up for a full season as has fellow crime drama, though with a period setting, Vegas. The two dramas have so far performed well in their respective time-slots.
Nina Tassler, CBS‘ entertainment president, said in a press release ‘Vegas and Elementary have opened strong, delivering big audiences and winning performances in important time periods. Each of the shows has rich characters, big stars and a unique visual style that have stood out in the crowd, helping make two of our strongest nights even’
Elementary attracted plenty of press interest well before its premier because of its perceived similarities with BBC One’s smash hit drama Sherlock; also a modern day adaptation of the famous sleuth. The BBC’s Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and is based in London while Elementary stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu and is set in New York.
