Fans travel from all directions for One Direction

Pop group One Direction, a smash hit with teenage girls – like The Beatles, The Osmonds, Take That and Boyzone before them, saw tickets for their European tour sell out within 20 minutes yesterday!

Viagogo, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, reports that they saw a spike in sales from all over Europe as devoted fans seem prepared to travel far and wide to see the hit makers.

Edward Parkinson, Viagogo spokesperson comments “One Direction fans are a dedicated bunch and there has been a remarkable spike in demand from fans apparently willing to travel very long distances see the boys perform. It seems they have seized the crown from Take That as the most sought after pop ticket in the world”

The site has seen ticket searches from as far away as Russia and Spain, with fans showing willing to travel over a thousand miles to see the floppy hair popsters in action.
With hundreds of fans from all over Europe booked to see the boys kick off their works tour in the UK, there has also been demand British fans have joined the search to see the band perform on the continent. Viagogo has registered more than 30,000 searches from the UK as fans who have not yet secured a ticket for the band’s homecoming dates in February consider shows a little further afield.
Ticket demand coming from the UK outstrips demand previously seen for Take That’s European dates by 3:1.
