Robbie Williams hits number one with ‘Candy’

Robbie Williams has scored his 14th number one with ‘Candy’.
His new single, which has not been added to the Radio 1 play list, sold over 137,000 singles this week. The Official Charts company said that this was his fastest selling single in the UK since ‘Rock DJ’ back in 2000.

“Number 1 – YEAH! So chuffed, really, really happy that Candy reached the top spot. Good work Team Williams and thanks to everyone who got it there. I’m so excited about this album and this is a great start.” – Robbie Williams

It is his 14th number one, combining his solo number ones with that of Take That. This equals Gary Barlow’s total to date, who co-wrote ‘Candy’.
