Russell Tovey to star in ITV sitcom
Russell Tovey is to star alongside Sarah Hadland in a new sitcom,The Job Lot.
Tovey says of the show, “Incredibly excited to begin the new ITV adventure that is The Job Lot…superb scripts… gifted actors… and a job centre… the dream”.
The comedy is set in a busy West Midlands Job Centre and will focus on the relationships between the people that work there and the people that don’t work there, or anywhere else for that matter.
It’s work, or the lack of it, that brings the characters together, and their relationships, or lack of them, around which the series revolves.
“The majority of ITV viewers will identify with this setting, so it might actually be a success darling” says ATV Today critic Queenie.
The Job Lot is a Big Talk Production and the first series from the Midlands based writing team of Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis and Stuart Lane.
Sarah Hadland adds, “I challenge Russell Tovey to an ‘excitement off’ over new comedy The Job Lot – I am MORE excited than him”.
The series will air next year on the new-look ITV minus its ‘1’.
