Daniela Nardini latest arrival at Waterloo Road

Waterloo Road is set to see a new teacher arrive as actress Daniela Nardini  joins the eighth series of the school-based BBC One drama.

“We’re delighted that Daniela has joined the Waterloo Road Cast. It’s a real pleasure to see her back at BBC Scotland and we’re sure the audience will love her character, Esther.” Says Gaynor Holmes, Executive Producer for BBC Scotland.

In future episodes of the popular drama Daniela, best known for her roles in The Fades and This Life, will be seen in the Waterloo Road staffroom as a new science teacher.
Daniela’s character, Esther Fairclough, is a passionate, driven but maverick science teacher who has an unconventional approach to inspiring her pupils.

Daniela adds, “Esther is mildly dangerous with the potential to get more so. She is passionate about her cause but unfortunately doesn’t know how to encourage and promote her views without getting carried away.”

Esther Fairclough will make her on-screen debut in the third instalment of the 8th series – episodes 21-30 – scheduled to transmit on BBC One later in 2013 the corporation state.
Daniela Nardini is one of several new additions to the show’s cast alongside Laurie Brett of EastEnders fame, Zoe Lucker best known for her role in Footballers’ Wives, Tommy Lawrence-Knight from The Sarah Jane Adventures, Georgie Glen of Heartbeat, Victoria Bush of Bad Girls and newcomer Brogan Ellis to name a few.
