Hollyoaks: Brendan's father cast

Irish actor Fintan McKeown has joined the cast of Hollyoaks in the role of Seamus Brady.

Seamus is the father of established characters Brendan and Cheryl and is expected to cause turmoil for Brendan when he makes his debut on the soap next month. Viewers recently discovered that Brendan was sexually abused by his father when he was a child.
When Seamus arrives in the village, will Brendan find the courage to stand up to his evil father, or is he doomed to face more nightmares and torture?

“This is my first appearance in soap opera and I hope I can bring something unique to the style and format of the show. I enjoy working with everyone on set, especially my on screen family, Emmett and Bronagh. I can’t wait for all the drama that will inevitably ensue.” – McKeown

A spokesperson for the soap added: “Brendan’s sister Cheryl is unaware of the very different childhood her sibling had, so could this be an opportunity for the truth to finally surface? Or will there be more wrongs before there can be a right?”
McKeown has previously appeared in Merlin and Game of Thrones.
