Kevin Williamson developing new drama for The CW

Kevin Williamson, co creator and executive producer of The Vampire Diaries, is developing a new supernatural drama for The CW.

The new drama is being tipped as a companion series to The Vampire Diaries but not a spin-off – so there wouldn’t be any crossovers between the two shows.

Instead they would be paired up timeslot wise – though the drama is in the early stages of development and this could very well change.

The new supernatural drama is being described as “Buffy meets the X Files” and revolves around a group of people who investigate paranormal happenings.

William’s fellow Vampire Diaries exec producer Julie Plec may come onboard the project. The show is still in the early stages and has yet not even been officially commissioned by The CW.
