EastEnders actor Lee Ross wins Doctor Who role

Former EastEnders actor Lee Ross, who played Owen Turner in the BBC soap, will appear in the next series of Doctor Who.

 

Former EastEnders actor Lee Ross, who played Owen Turner in the BBC soap, will appear in the next series of Doctor Who. The actor has reportedly won a role in Episode Three of the forthcoming series which is believed to be the same episode that actor Hugh Bonneville guest-stars as a pirate. According to reports Ross will play a character called Boatsswain. Filming for the third episode is currently underway.

 

Steven Moffat recently switched the running over of the new episodes around bumping a story by Mark Gatiss back to the latter half of the season and moving forward what is now episode three from its previous position.

 

Lee Ross played troublesome Owen Turner in EastEnders in 2006 reprising his role in 2009 when he became the victim of murderous Lucas (Don Gilet). His other notable roles include DCI Litton on Life on Mars and its spin-off Ashes to Ashes. The actors other roles include Robin Hood, Mutual Friends, Jericho, Moses Jones and The Catherine Tate Show.
