NCIS Tops 22 Million Viewers
CBS’ top-rated drama NCIS drew its second-largest audience ever on Tuesday evening as over 22 million viewers tuned in.
At 8pm there was no beating NCIS as the ratings giant was miles ahead of the competition in terms of total viewers and the all import 18-49 demo. The detective drama, now in its 10th season, drew a hefty 22.34 million viewers with a 3.8 18-49 rating. That figure makes the episode the second highest rated of NCIS ever – the highest ever was 22.87 million viewers for an episode that aired in February 2011 – so there show came very close to topping that figure.
Elsewhere last night at 8pm a repeat of Modern Family on ABC commanded 5.1 million viewers with a 1.6 rating followed at 8.30pm by a repeat of Suburgatory which had 3.1 million viewers and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Raising Hope on Fox pulled in 3.7 million viewers with a 1.6 rating followed by Ben and Kate which had a small 2.3 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. On NBC a double-bill of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers drew 5.9 million viewers and a 1.4 rating at 8pm and 5.9 million viewers with a higher 1.8 rating. The hour was rounded off by the return of Hart of Dixie on The CW which had 1.4 million viewers and a 0.6 18-49 rating.
At 9pm NCIS: Los Angeles drew 17.4 million viewers with a 2.7 18-49 rating winning the hour. Comedy New Girl on Fox pulled in 3.6 million with a 1.9 rating followed by The Mindy Project with 2.7 million and a 1.3 rating. NBC’s Go On had 4.3 million viewers with a 1.7 rating followed by The New Normal which had 3.2 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. Happy Endings on ABC was seen by 3 million viewers with a 1.3 rating followed by Don’t Trust The B In Apt 23 which had 2.7 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. The CW’s medical drama Emily Owens MD had 1 million viewers with a lowly 0.3 rating as the remaining episodes of the cancelled series air.
Parenthood on NBC at 10pm had 4.9 million viewers with a 1.9 rating winning the hour in terms of 18-49 viewers. CBS’s period drama Vegas had more total viewers though as 11 million tuned in giving it a 1.6 18-49 rating. The penultimate episode of Private Practice on ABC meanwhile had 4 million viewers with a 1.2 rating.
