Arrow star Jessica De Gouw takes lead role in Dracula co-production

Sky has confirmed that Arrow actress Jessica De Gouw will play the lead female role in upcoming series Dracula.

She will play Mina in the new ten-part series and will star alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Dracula is a co-production between Sky Living and NBC Universal. The drama is based on the legendary Bram Stoker’s novel.

The 10-episode series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.

The original Gothic horror book was released in 1897. The story has also been re-told several times through television programmes and films around the world.

Dracula is expected to air later this year.
