Splash! Ratings Fall For Semi Final

ITV’s Saturday entertainment series Splash! featuring Olympian Tom Daley saw its ratings tumble on Saturday evening.

The semi-final of the Saturday evening series saw Linda Barker, Jake Canuso and Eddie Edwards make it through to the finale which will air next date. Saturday evening’s edition of Splash! saw a drop in ratings as 4.8 million viewers tuned in but a further 270,000 watched an hour via later the ITV time-shift channel. The celebrity diving competition had been performing relatively well for ITV despite its mauling by unimpressed critics.

Claire Balding’s new series Britain’s Brightest continued to struggle with ratings falling to 3.8 million viewers. Veteran medical drama Casualty, which hit the headlines this weeks for claims it had withdrawn a storyline because of the smoking ban in Wales, was seen by 5.1 million viewers. Although the edition was down on last week its ratings made it the most watched programme of Saturday evening.
