ITV Commissions 324 New Episodes Of The Chase
ITV has re-commissioned its popular daytime game-show The Chase for a further two series.
The broadcaster has ordered two 150 episode seasons of The Chase as well as 24 more celebrity specials. The two new season orders will represent The Chase’s seventh and eighth seasons on-air. ITV has steadily increased its episode over of The Chase in recent years as the game-show continues to dominate the 5pm ratings; its order for season six was also for 150 editions but it’s fifth season renewal was for 120 editions.
“The Chase has been a consistent star performer for ITV Daytime. Now in its sixth series it continues to grow in popularity and we are thrilled to secure it into 2014 for our ITV Daytime viewers.” – Alison Sharman, Director of factual and daytime
The Chase is presented by actor Bradley Walsh and first launched in 2009. The Chasers, of the show’s title, are Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Paul Sinha and Shaun Wallace. The game-show revolves around a new challenger, in every edition, testing their knowledge against the chasers in a bid to win.
While The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm the celebrity editions, of which there have so far been two seasons of, airs at 6pm on Saturdays. The first celebrity series aired in October 2011 and the second in August 2012.
