Being Human Returns To Lower Ratings

Being-Human-Series-5BBC Three‘s supernatural drama Being Human returned on Sunday for its fifth series but failed to match previous season premiers in terms of ratings.

Overnight figures for Sunday evening reveal that the fifth season premier drew an average of 731,000 viewers. That makes the fifth season premier the lowest rated since the first full series, following its pilot outing, of Being Human in 2009.

Last year 1.1 million viewers tuned in for the fourth season launch. However, the fourth season was the last to feature the any of the original cast (from the first full series) as both Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow bowed out. Michael Socha was promoted to the regular cast in the fourth season, after appearing in the third, while Damien Molony joined as a new series regular.

While Being Human returned to lower ratings than in previous years it was still the second most watched, non sports, programme of Sunday evening in terms of multi-channels.
