Bauer Media buys Planet Rock

Digital rock radio station Planet Rock has been bought by Bauer Media.

The station, which was founded in 1999 from a consortium led by millionaire businessman Malcolm Bluemel, has been bought today by Bauer Media UK. The group already owns several digital radio stations including Heat, Kiss and Kerrang!

Planet Rock is an established national digital radio station with an audience of more than 877,000 listeners a week. It was the only dedicated rock radio station when it launched 14 years ago.
