Ruth Bradley joins ABC's Beauty and the Beast pilot

Primeval actress Ruth Bradley has been cast in ABC‘s Beauty and the Beast pilot.

Casting on ABC’s Beauty and the Beast project is storming ahead as Irish actress Ruth Bradley (reports TVLine) has been cast in the role of Grace – the Belle-esque heroine of the piece. ABC’s project is a “re-imaging’ of the classic fairy tale while The CW project – yes it has a Beauty and the Beast series planned as well – is a remake of the 1980s television series.

Ruth Bradley will be best known, perhaps, as the time-travelling Victorian Emily Merchant in the fourth and fifth season of ITV‘s sci-fi series Primeval. Bradley’s other roles include The Golden Hour, Plus One and Julian Fellowes forthcoming drama Titanic.

Also signed up for Beauty and the Beast is the singer turned actor Darius Campbell who is known in the UK for his appearances in Pop Stars, Pop Idol and Popstar to Operastar. Former Home and Away actor Chris Egan has also landed a role in the pilot.
