Daniel Radcliffe speaks about playing gay character
Former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has spoken out about playing a gay character in new film Kill Your Darlings.
Radcliffe has been a strong supporter of the gay community and LGBT rights. In the new film, he shares a ‘passionate gay kiss’ with his co-star Dane DeHaan. Speaking last month, Radcliffe said that filming a gay sex scene “was something new” but that he “didn’t worry about it.”
“You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love.” – Radcliffe speaking to Out Magazine.
He went on to say that he had parents who would never have allowed him to become “obnoxious.”
Daniel plays Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings which has its premier at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
