NBC Announces Hannibal Premier Date

NBC has announced that its forthcoming thriller series Hannibal will premier in April.

Hannibal will be coming to NBC in April; the 4th to be precise. The new thriller drama, based on novels by Thomas Harris, will take the 10pm slot vacated by Do No Harm. The “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ style series starring Steven Pasquale was yanked from the schedules after just two episodes because of low ratings.

The TV drama of Hannibal will star Hugh Dancy as FBI profiler Will Graham and Mads Mikkelsen as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The cast will also include Gillian Anderson, Gina Torres, Laurence Fishburne and Scott Thompson.

The 13 part drama has been adapted by Bryan Fuller who recently developed the Munster reboot Mockingbird Lane for NBC. The dramatic reworking of the cult comedy was not picked up for a series though following its pilot.
