Corrie Exit For Natalie Gumede

Natalie Gumede has confirmed she is leaving Coronation Street.

The actress broke news of her forthcoming departure via her Twitter account.

“I can now confirm what you all suspected: #Corrie is on a Kirsty countdown!! The last 18 months have been incredible, thank you all so much! Your support has touched me greatly, and working with the #Corrie team has been an honour and a pleasure.” – Gumede

Gumede has played the role of Kirsty Soames in the ITV soap since 2011 and the character is currently involved in a domestic abuse storyline with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).  Kirsty has recently convinced her neighbours that she has suffered domestic abuse at the hands of Tyrone even though the reverse is true.

The character of Tyrone will shortly stand trial with two endings allegedly filmed. Gumede will film her final scenes next week.
