Charles Dance Confirms Fourth Season Of Game of Thrones
Charles Dance has seemingly confirmed a fourth season of Game of Thrones has been ordered before the third has even aired.
Dance plays Lord Tywin Lannister, the patriarch of the family, in HBO’s epic fantasy drama Game of Thrones. While promoting the DVD release of G.O.T‘s second season the actor seemingly revealed that production on the fourth season would begin later this year.
“We’re about to start season four aren’t we? This year…..We get scripts pretty early on, much earlier on than in similar series, usually you get perhaps one episode and you just have to trust that what’s going to come in subsequent episodes is going to be as good as the one you’ve got. But in this I think there are six scripts already written, and we will probably be able to see them with more than adequate time to prepare before we start shooting” – Charles Dance
Officially HBO has yet to order a fourth season but it makes sense if it had already commissioned another season but not publicly stated so. Commissioning a fourth season in advance allows more pre-production time for the producers and more time to work out schedules to fit around the availability of cast members.
The third season of Game of Thrones is due to launch on HBO on March 31st and on Sky Atlantic, here in the UK, on April 1st. An extended trailer for the third season has now been released.
