Stars turn out in aid of Help for Heroes

Personalities from Made in Chelsea and a former EastEnders star join forces to help former forces heroes.

Binky Felstead, Ollie Locke and Gabriella Ellis from Made in Chelsea (pictured right) joined long running EastEnders actor Ross Kemp (pictured below right) at the War Heroes Spring Ball at the end of last month.

“The entertainment packed night also featured a live auction and poker tables to raise money for Help For Heroes.” A spokesperson for the cause said.

“The night raised money for Help For Heroes with a lot being raised through the live auction, including everything from 5* villas (the night was kindly sponsored by Simpson luxury travel), a yacht for the Monaco grand prix, Vip night at Mahiki right through to a signed Boris Johnson book which went for £250.” The spokesperson added.

Guests listened to classical Brit award nominee Geoff Sewell as well as opera singer Amy Coulshaw and Canadian Idol finalists The Piggott Brothers. Poker tables helped entertain the guests and raise further money for the worthy war heroes after the live auction, where guests were also dancing to V Festival and Soho house music mixer – DJ Optic.

The evening kicked off with a bagpipe and champagne reception whilst ball goers admired an art and photography exhibition, followed by a three course dinner.

Help for Heroes was set up in 2006, and strives for 100% effectiveness, so that for every £1 donated, £1 will go to helping wounded Servicemen and women. The Spring Ball is hoping to raise a large amount through ticket and sponsorship sales, donations and through an art auction on the evening.

The Spring Ball is the brain child of ex-banker Romal Almazo.
