No fine for Bieber over late performance

justin_bieberThe Royal Borough of Greenwich has confirmed that no action is to be taken into Monday’s Justin Bieber concert.

It has been reported by various media outlets that the O2 Arena could face a fine for the concert going past 11.00pm. However today the council has issued a statement stating that no breach of licensing conditions had occurred.

This afternoon ATV Today contacted the Royal Borough of Greenwich council who said it was “unfortunate” that many media outlets decided to “repeat the myth without checking the facts.”

“We license the O2 as an entertainment venue but the reason why we are not going to fine the venue is that there was no breach of the licensing conditions. Furthermore we have never had cause to fine the venue since it opened.” – Spokesperson speaking to ATV Today

The council added that it is “simply a contractual issue between AEG and the artist.”

Bieber left some, mainly parents of young children, angered at his late arrival on Monday. Later citing ‘technical issues’, the ‘Baby’ star appeared on stage one hour and thirty minutes later than was purportedly advertised.

Many parents who took their children to see the concert were angry that he left an audience of 20,000 waiting for such a long time on what is a school night.
