Strike Back for Robson Green and Martin Clunes
Robson Green and Martin Clunes are to appear in the fourth series of Sky 1 drama Strike Back, described by the broadcaster as an action packed saga.
Production is already underway, shooting in South Africa and Hungary, for the ten part third series of HBO and Cinemax co-production. The third series will air on Sky 1 this summer.
Robson Green, who became the star of many ITV dramas, including Central Television’s Soldier Soldier (pictured), will play Lt Colonel Philip Locke, a commanding officer in chief will join the Section 20 team. Funnyman turned actor Martin Clunes, of ITV’s Doc Martin fame, plays Sebastian Gray, a former MI6 agent turned independent intelligence officer working in Beirut.
Robson Green says, “It is great to be working alongside ‘Section 20’ and being part of an ‘Elite Team’ for Sky. Strike Back is a quality drama with incredibly high production values.”
The series will also star Mission Impossible II and Desperate Housewives actor Dougray Scott who is to play James Leatherby, a wealthy rogue operative and self-styled war junkie.
Returning to lead the cast once again are Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton who reprise their on screen partnership as counterterrorism operatives Sgt. Michael Stonebridge and Sgt. Damien Scott.
Huw-Kennair Jones, commissioning editor for Sky adds, “There really is nothing else like Strike Back on British TV, it’s a fantastic series full of explosive action that delivers a mini-movie each week. Working with HBO and Leftbank we’ve really upped the ante this year with a truly ambitious, global plot that I hope our customers will relish. I am thrilled Robson, Martin and Dougray have joined the cast for a very special fourth series.”
In the upcoming series, Section 20 will pursue a deadly terrorist network from Colombia to Beirut to Europe where they uncover plots reaching to the West.
