Lots of people attend parades, drink green milk shakes, some ‘drown the Shamrock’, and many just want to put their feet up on St Patrick’s Day and chill out in front of a good television show or film. Netflix has come up with a list of great Irish television shows and films which re available to stream instantly over the long weekend, on St Patrick’s Day or anytime in the future.
Father Ted (All 3 Seasons)
St Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be the same without a trip to Craggy Island to spend some quality time with Father Ted Crilly, Father Dougal McGuire, Mrs. Doyle and Father Jack Hackett and his daily simple pleasures routine of sleeping, eating and drinking (and swearing).
Killnascully (Seasons 1-5)
Though a little off the beaten path, Killinaskully has much to amuse the visitor in search of something a little different. Comedian Pat Shortt plays several roles in this broad comic caricature of life in the strange Irish village.
Mattie (Seasons 1 +2)
After years as a country cop, Mattie (Pat Shortt) is teamed up with feisty detective Sharon Kelly and struggles to adapt to the rough and tumble of city policing. But Mattie usually gets his man, despite comic misadventures and the ridicule of his smug peers.
