Original hosts to return for This Morning anniversary
Richard Madeley has revealed that himself and wife Judy will be involved in This Morning‘s 25th anniversary later this year.
The pair served as hosts of the ITV daytime show from its launch in 1988 until 2001 when a move to Channel 4 saw them present a teatime format.
Madely told showbiz reporter Kevin Hughes at this year’s RTS awards that himself and Judy would be heading back to the show’s original home in Liverpool for the anniversary. This Morning was originally produced from studios overlooking the Albert Dock in Liverpool before moving to London Studios in 1996.
Its current hosts are Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes covering Fridays. Richard and Judy have a long association with the North West, both had a long spell in regional ITV in the area hosting Granada Television’s local news programme as well as specials such as the ITV Telethon ’88.
The show will mark 25 years on air in October.
