Sky Living add new cooking show to the mix with My Kitchen Rules

Sky Living

Sky Living has signed up Jason Atherton and Lorraine Pascale to co-host and judge a ten part competitive cooking series My Kitchen Rules.

Famed for opening coveted London restaurant Maze to critical acclaim, Atherton will join this exciting new series for Sky Living as filming begins in the coming weeks. The first British chef to work in the world-famous, highly revered El Bulli in Spain, he has a stellar background in creating unique and stylish dishes for his diners. Atherton’s extensive career has seen him work under Pierre Koffmann, Nico Ladenis, and Marco Pierre White.

On joining the series Atherton said: “2013 is proving to be an exciting year for me and I’m really looking forward to working with Lorraine on My Kitchen Rules. I can’t wait to hit the road to meet some of the UK’s most accomplished home cooks. I’d also like to thank Sky Living for giving me this new opportunity.”

More recently in 2011, Atherton opened Pollen Street Social, which captured the critic’s attention and has since been ranked at number six in The Good Food Guide’s Top 50 Restaurants 2013. It was also regarded as London’s best new fine dining restaurant in the Time Out Eating & Drinking Awards 2011 and won New Restaurant of the Year at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2012.

Michele Kurland, Head of Factual Entertainment for Sky: “It is fantastic to have two of the UK’s best loved chefs coming to Sky Living to make this exciting, zesty and creative cookery competition. Jason and Lorraine are the perfect pairing and I am thrilled we can draw on their vast experience.”

The hour long episodes pits rival couples against each other to find Britain and Ireland’s most exceptional home cooks. At the heart of the show are six couples, with a real flair for cooking; husbands and wives, mothers and daughters, best friends, siblings or neighbours. Over ten weeks, their relationships, recipes, and cooking skills will be put to the test. There will be passion, tears and triumphs as they battle against the clock and each other to plate up outstanding menus and prove whose kitchen rules.

Lorraine Pascale added: “I am truly delighted to be working with the world renowned chef Jason Atherton on My Kitchen Rules. I am a huge fan of Jason’s beautiful food; he is a very talented and exciting chef which makes him the perfect co-host and judging partner for the show.”

The series will be produced by Boundless and will go into production in spring.
