Catchphrase return a hit with viewers

Almost 5 million viewers tuned in to Catchphrase on ITV1 last night.

The return of the iconic gameshow, now fronted by Stephen Mulhern, after a 10 year hiatus from screens was seen by 4.8m (23%) at 6.45pm. Afterwards hidden camera show Off Their Rockers entertained 4.9m (21.2%) from 7.30pm.

Foyle’s War attracted 5.6m (22.6%) at 8pm, but BBC One’s Countryfile drew the biggest audience of the night with 6.3m (28%) tuning in at 7pm.

Also on BBC One The Village continued with 5.3m (21%) at 9pm down over a million from last week’s premiere but still a strong audience.

Coverage of the MotoGP on BBC Two pulled in 1.6m (6.9%) at 7.30pm, while over on Channel Four Nick Hewer’s Countdown to Freetown documentary was seen by 391k (1.7%) at 7pm.
