The CW Axes Cult

The-CW-Green-LogoStruggling freshman drama series Cult has been axed by The CW.

The low rated series starring Matt Davis failed to make an impact on the ratings when it launched earlier this year. After several low-rated instalments the drama was moved to Friday evenings – the “grave-yard” slot of television.

The move to Fridays was the writing on the wall for Cult – it was unlikely to find any more viewers there than it had in its previous slot. Now the final nail in the coffin of Cult has been hammered in as it has been yanked for the schedules after just seven episodes – effectively cancelling/axing the series.

It is unclear when the remaining episodes of Cult will be aired if at all. Replacing Cult in its grave-yard slot on Friday evenings will be repeats of The Carrie Diaries.
