Channel 5 announce Nurses documentary series
The frontline nurses at The Cardiff & Vale University Health Board will feature in a new documentary to air on Channel 5.
6,500 frontline nurses work in departments from A & E through to breast care and even on weekend nights, out on the Welsh capital’s often chaotic streets.
Their job is the real front line of the medical profession – highly skilled, urgent, bloody and above all vital.
The fly-on-the-wall documentary series will dig deep into the reality of nursing, a job that is diverse and challenging. What does it take to do a job like this and what kind of person can cope with the pressure?
“Nurses are in the front line of today’s NHS. Most patients will have more contact with them than other disciplines in the NHS.
What they do and how they do it is not just the subject of intense political debate, it’s absolutely fundamental to what happens to all of us when we get ill. We’ll be taking Channel 5 viewers right to the heart of this extraordinary profession ” – Simon Raikes, Channel 5 Commissioner
The series is co-produced by Maverick Television and GroupM Entertainment for Channel 5 and is set to broadcast in the autumn.
