Maria Shriver joins NBC News as special anchor
NBC has confirmed that Maria Shriver is to join NBC News as a special anchor reporting on women’s issues.
Shriver has previously contributed to NBC News over the years, most recently helping out with Today Show coverage of the inauguration of Pope Francis. Her reports on women’s issues will be shown across various programmes and channels belonging to the NBC Universal group.

A Peabody and Emmy award winning journalist, Maria Shriver was a presenter and correspondent for NBC News from 1986 until 2004. She anchored the first Sunday edition of the Today show back in 1987.
Maria was married to Hollywood actor former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger until 2011.
