‘Goodbye my friend’ – Viva Forever! musical to close
Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! is to close in June following poor ticket sales.
Producer Judy Craymer, who had previously worked on the mega-hit Mamma Mia!, confirmed that the musical will cease in June.
The story of the 90s girl group the Spice Girls was written by comedian Jennifer Saunders. The show does not feature the characters of the girls but focuses on four friends reaching fame and the strain it brings.
Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham attended the star studded premier in the West End in December 2012.
“Despite the wonderful audiences, extremely positive feedback and the standing ovation at every performance from an audience of families and friends all enjoying a great night out, we just can’t make it work.” – Judy Craymer, Producer
The show will cease on 29th June and anyone who bought tickets to see the show after that date have been asked to contact their point of sale for an alternative earlier date or refund.
