Nadine Dorries MP reinstated following I’m A Celebrity appearance
Conservative Member of Parliament Nadine Dorries has been reinstated as an MP following her suspension from the party for appearing on a reality TV programme last year.
The MP for Mid-Bedfordshire was suspended following her decision to take part in ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in November 2012.
Dorries was suspended from the party by the Chief Whip at the time, Andrew Mitchell, after not telling him what she was going to be doing with her time off.
She was reinstated by current Chief Whip Sir George Young on the day that the Queen opened the new parliamentary session, meaning Dorries can now return to the Commons.
Nadine Dorries was the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle in which she lasted 12 days. The series was won by EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks.
