Klein has been named as the new ITV director of factual with current controller of popular factual, Jo Clinton-Davis, moving over to controller of factual. It follows restructuring in the departments of the 58-year-old broadcaster after the departure of director of daytime and factual Alison Sharman.
“I am most excited to have this opportunity to commission and make entertaining, popular programmes for the ITV audience. The ambition is to make programmes that people watch and talk about in equal measure, and that’s a challenge I relish,” he said according to Broadcast Magazine.
Klein had been controller of BBC Four since 2008. In another appointment at ITV former Channel 4 boss Helen Warner will join the company as director of daytime.
Both take up their roles at ITV in the summer.
