Elementary comes to London

Elementary-logoSky Living’s detective drama series Elementary, the international hit starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, will film its second season premiere episode in London. This will mark the first time the CBS drama series has shot on location outside of New York.

In the second season premiere episode, Sherlock Holmes is called to London to revisit an old case and, while doing so, is forced to face his past. Meanwhile, Watson learns more about Holmes’ mysterious life and the company he kept before he left for New York.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have this opportunity to see Sherlock’s old stomping grounds and take a closer look at a life that, until now, we’ve only been able to glimpse through the lens of his recovery,” said Executive Producer and Creator Robert Doherty. “By meeting old friends and revisiting prior cases, Watson will gain even more insight into Holmes. She’ll have to keep up with a Sherlock who is both more comfortable in his surroundings and even bolder in testing the limits of those around him.”

A huge hit in the US, where the series averages over 12m on CBS, Elementaryis one of Sky Living’s most successful shows and the season one finale will air Tuesday, May 28th, 9pmand is available on the move with Sky Go and On Demand.

Elementary stars Jonny Lee Miller as eccentric, mischievous detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson, a former surgeon turned sober companion. Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, Sherlock escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare – a sobriety coach. Now running free in New York solving crimes, it’s simple deduction that he’s going to need someone to keep him grounded, and it’s elementary that it’s a job for Watson.

Aidan Quinn stars as Capt. Thomas Gregson, who knows from previous experience working with Scotland Yard that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, along with Jon Michael Hill, who portrays Det. Marcus Bell, a top-notch investigator who is initially skeptical of Holmes and his unorthodox methods.

Antonia Hurford-Jones, Director Sky Living added; “To have one of Sky Living’s US dramas filming in London will be a real treat for our customers. Personally, I can’t wait to see our Sherlock on home turf.”
